What is integrative psychotherapy?
Integrative psychotherapy combines techniques from different therapeutic approaches to best meet the individual needs of each client.

What’s the difference between a psychotherapist, therapist, and counsellor?
These terms are often used interchangeably. Alex is a BACP-registered psychotherapist, which means they meet professional standards set by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

What is the BACP and why is registration important?
The BACP is a professional body that ensures ethical and professional standards in therapy. Being registered means Alex adheres to these standards.

How long are sessions and how often do they take place?
Sessions are 50 minutes long and typically occur weekly at the same time. Fortnightly sessions may be available upon request.

Do I have to commit to a certain number of sessions?
No. While Alex recommends committing to at least 8 sessions to see progress, you can choose to work in an open-ended way or agree on a set number of sessions.

What happens in the first session?
The first session is a “trial” session offered at a reduced rate. It’s a chance for you to meet Alex and decide if you’d like to continue.

How do we track progress in therapy?
Alex checks in with you about your goals and progress roughly every 8 sessions to ensure therapy is meeting your needs.

In-person (Hackney, East London)
Walk-and-talk (Victoria Park / E3 area)

What is walk-and-talk therapy and is it confidential?
Walk-and-talk therapy takes place outdoors and can be helpful for those who prefer movement. However, full confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in public spaces.

In-person: Wednesday afternoons and evenings

How much do sessions cost?
Initial 15-minute consultation: Free
First “trial” session: £50
Ongoing sessions: £75
Block of 8 sessions: £550 (discounted)
